In the afternoon of September 25^th, the2024 Jiangsu Matchmaking Conference for Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation in Marine Industry, themed on “Science and Technology Empowering New Quality Productive Forces in Marine Industry and Innovation Leading High-Quality Development along the Coast” was held in Yancheng. Zhang Mingkang, Deputy Party Secretary and Mayor of Yancheng, and Lin Kang, deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Development and Reform Commission, attended the event and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Zhang Mingkang said that we will actively seize the strategic opportunities, focus on key core technologies, improve the allocation of various resources, deepen the integration of industry-academia-research, accelerate the integration of innovation chain, industrial chain, capital chain, and talent chain, and facilitate the transformation and application of more technological innovation achievements in coastal areas of Jiangsu, as well as the establishment of more high-quality scientific research platforms in coastal areas of Jiangsu, so as to make greater contributions to building an important base for developing new quality productive forces in the marine industry and shoulder greater responsibilities.

During the event, a promotional video for the High-Quality Development of Marine Economy in Yancheng was played; some universities and research institutes made presentations on innovative achievements related to the marine industry; and 12 major cooperation projects between industry, academia, and research were signed on the spot, with an investment exceeding 2.788 billion yuan. Discussions and exchanges were also held on the themes of the development of marine renewable energy and the transformation and upgrading of marine fishery.
